Sailing Turkey

Days 5 and 6

Day 5:

Today we decided to head a little town called Bozburun to get some supplies before continuing up and around our little peninsula.  What an adorable town.  We did some shopping, lunching, and drinking, then headed back to our boat to find out next spot.

Which turned out to be a fun run, hike and more incredible views.

After a good amount of exercise, we pulled off to our spot for the night, and along the way a little boat ran past us selling ice cream.  We bartered him a beer for one.

The next anchorage that we stumbled upon was probably our best yet, a very private and secluded little bay nestled among the rocky islands that dot this coast. We were the only ones there all night long... and as the sun set, we paddled, swam, ate some dinner, and finished off the day by watching shooting stars while laying on the trampoline.

Day 6:

We enjoyed our little spot so much, we stuck around all morning playing...and you'll start to see a pattern here: we paddleboarded, swam, and just enjoyed the privacy and warm clear waters.  I haven't yet mentioned how clear and beautiful the waters are here.  Even when we're out in water 100 meters deep we can see the bottom.  Ian said it's the most beautiful water he's ever seen, and that's saying something considering he's been literally everywhere.

Next we decided to have a bit of luxury, so we went to D Hotel Maris for spa, real showers and a nice dinner.  Boy was it all we hoped!  The spa was amazing, the hotel was simply spectacular, and the dinner was our best yet.

Our boat, which we thought was so big and luxurious, was the smallest pulled up to the place. Honestly, these yachts around us are probably embarrassed to have our rented catamaran anchored near them...we're basically the Clampetts.  They are crazy beautiful, luxury custom yachts.

Seriously, there is a balcony off the bedroom on this yacht.

We decided to stay the night here to try and run some trails in the morning and enjoy the spot a little more, then we're going to do some proper sailing to the nearby Greek Islands tomorrow!
